What is provided?
New Leaf will supply sheets, pillow, blanket, towels and laundry basket. There are basic toiletries at the facility. Cleaning supplies, furnished kitchen, internet, and utilities. It would be similar to what you would find in an Airbnb.
Can I bring my pet?
No, this is community living everyone may not love your pet like you do.
Can I have a vehicle?
Yes, you are allowed to have transportation. You must have a valid drivers license and insurance.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is free, off-street parking available.
Is transportation provided?
No, but there is a transportation program available through Three Rivers which must be scheduled in advance. Any other transportation will be the responsibility of the client.
Is food provided?
No, there are food banks that can be partnered with, assistance with meals are available. Each client will have space for their food in the cabinets and refrigerators.
Will I have a private room?
No, rooms are shared typically two people per room. Some master suites house three people.
Will I have personal space for my clothes and belongings?
Yes, there are closets, bedside tables, and dressers for each participant.
Is the house professionally cleaned?
No, the house is clean and clients will be responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness.
How much does the program cost?
There is a $350 program fee for the first week. Each additional week is $250. Monthly payments are accepted and a 1 year minimum stay is required. Payments are for the upcoming week and no refunds are given for early departure.
How long can I stay at New Leaf?
This is an individual choice. Everyone recovers at a different pace. The client has the decision to stay as long as needed; we do not place a time limit on the program. We do ask for a two week notice prior to leaving.
Can I have visitors?
Only approved guests are permitted at the facility. All guests must be preapproved.
Can someone pick me up from the house?
Possibly, Uber and public transportation are acceptable. Individuals need to be approved by staff. This is typically not an issue but for the safety of the house we need to know who is present and knows the address. Drivers are not allowed inside unless prior approval has been made.
Is there a curfew?
Yes, all residence are required to be home by 10pm. If work or recovery activities go past curfew approval is required.
How is the house managed?
The core management is self-run by the residents. Weekly meetings go over basic house concerns and decisions are made as a group. Staff do guide the meetings and are involved in recovery-related decisions, as well as enforcement of house rules.
Can I have my laptop/cell phone?
Yes, Internet is provided. We ask for discretion when taking pictures in the house for anonymity of other guests.
Can I bring my meds?
Yes, medication must be discussed with staff prior to admission. Narcotics are typically not permitted; all medicines must be guarded while in the house.
Can I smoke at the facility?
Yes, obviously it is healthier not to but you can smoke outside in designated areas. Smokers are required to clean ashtrays and only put butts in specified containers. NO SMOKING or VAPING is allowed in the house.
What happens if a client is drinking/using?
This must be brought to staff attention immediately. The recovery of the entire house is at risk if this happens. The client will be removed and not permitted to return.
What if I am on probation?
You are required to inform New Leaf of the requirements of probation and are expected to uphold your obligation to your sentence.
Is the staff in recovery?
Yes, the majority of staff is in recovery in one form or another.
Will the house be inspected or searched?
The house will be constantly monitored to insure responsibilities are completed. Staff will not search personal belongings unless the safety of the other clients are at stake.
Are drug/alcohol testing conducted?
Yes, random test are conducted. Test may be done for reasonable suspicion.
Can my parents/spouse see the house prior to admission?
Yes, and we will help set it up. We encourage family to be involved.
