House policies in a sober living home are in place to provide structure and support for residents in recovery, helping them maintain sobriety by creating a safe, accountable environment, promoting healthy habits, and minimizing distractions that could trigger relapse
New Leaf House Policies

Zero Tolerance for drug or alcohol use. (No engaging in illegal substance manufacturing, possession and/or distribution will be tolerated.)

Zero Tolerance for stealing. (Taking food or items from others without permission is considered stealing.)

Zero Tolerance for destruction of New Leaf Sober Living or other residents property.

Zero Tolerance for sexual activity between residents.

Zero Tolerance for physical confrontation or verbal confrontation with any staff or resident.

Zero Tolerance for failing to pay program fees on time every week. When you enroll with New Leaf sober living, you are expected to attend to your adult responsibilities. This means paying your bills on time.

NO SMOKING OR VAPING in the house, there are designated areas outside​​. There will be zero tolerance for smoking or vaping in the house. Smoking and vaping will only be permitted in designated areas outside of the house.

Any resident who is on prescribed medications must immediately inform the house manager; all medication must be approved by the house manager. All medications must be taken as prescribed.

As a member of a recovering community, based on the principles of honesty, trust and helping to create a safe and sober environment, we request any resident who knows that another resident has violated any rules of New Leaf Sober Living report the behavior to staff.

If New Leaf staff or residents suspect any use of illegal or illicit drugs, including alcohol this must be reported and addressed immediately. Everyone’s recovery depends on this policy.

All residents must attend 48 AA/NA meetings their first 90 days of residing at The New Leaf Sober Living and then 4 meetings per week thereafter. Meeting verification sheets are due at the house meeting. (90 in 90 is recommended.)

Residents must obtain and maintain a sponsor while living at New Leaf.

Residents must attend a mandatory House Meeting one time a week, every Sunday at 6:00 P.M.​

Residents must be willing to submit to a drug/alcohol urine screen upon the request of the manager.

We request that a resident commit to a minimum of 90 day stay. Residents may stay as long as they choose after their 90 days.

Residents rooms must always be clean. (Residents’ beds are to be made when the residents are not in bed.)

Curfew is 10:00 PM Sunday through Saturday.

Residents must sleep at the house each night unless prior arrangements have been made with staff.

Overnight passes are given after 90 days living at New Leaf Sober Living.

Residents are not permitted to have overnight guests. All visitors to the property must be approved by staff and must be off the property by 9:00 PM.

There is absolutely no loitering in the front of the property.

Residents must be employed to live at New Leaf Sober Living.

Residents having unusual job requirements must have New Leaf staff approval.

Residents will participate in daily ongoing mandatory house responsibilities.

Because this is a sober living environment and we are to be working as a family unit, new applicants will be interviewed by residents and staff at house meetings.
