



House Responsibilities
Responsibilities are a key part of a sober living house because they help residents develop healthy routines, practice accountability, and build essential life skills needed for successful reintegration into society. Residents will learn to manage everyday responsibilities like maintaining a clean living space, all while fostering a sense of community within the house.
New Leaf House Responsibilities
Kitchen:
Daily: Run/empty dishwasher, wipe down kitchen table, sweep floor, wipe down counters and appliances, empty trash if needed.
Weekly: Deep clean microwave, coffee makers, oven and refrigerator.
Common Areas:
Daily: Wipe down and straighten all furniture and fixtures.
Weekly: Dust all furniture and fixtures, vacuum all upholstery and carpeted bedrooms, take trash to street on pick-up day.
Yard:
Daily: Pick up sticks and any trash in yard, empty ashtrays.
Weekly: Rake yard (depending on season) water plants when needed.
Bathrooms:
Daily: Restock toilet paper, sweep, empty trash if needed, wipe down sink and clean mirror.
Weekly: Deep clean entire bathroom (scrub toilet, sink, tub and shower, sweep and mop floor, empty trash, clean mirror).
Floors:
Daily: Sweep all hard surface floors (living room, dining room, kitchen, hall and entry hall).
Weekly: Sweep/vacuum and mop all hard surface floors (using appropriate cleaner for each surface), vacuum area rugs, shake out/sweep/vacuum mats.
Laundry:
Daily: Sweep floor, Dust/wipe down machines, cabinets and make sure lint trap is clean and clear
Front Porch and Garage:
Weekly: Straighten up and sweep
Fridge:
Weekly: deep clean refrigerators.*

*Chore does not include throwing out spoiled food. Spoiled food is the responsibility of the member who owns it. Spoiled food left in refrigerator should be reported by other members using refrigerator or member with assigned chore.
